Walden Expressed Consent Revocation Attorney
In Colorado, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is the agency that determines whether a driver is required to have an ignition interlock device on their automobile. The court does not typically get involved with the situation, but can require one as a condition for probation.
On your first express consent revocation, your driver's license will be revoked for nine months. After serving one month of this revocation, it is possible to obtain an ignition interlock on your car or truck for the remainder of the revocation period. The Department of Motor Vehicles does provide incentives for drivers who make it four straight months without an issue on the interlock device. There is a procedure to have the interlock device removed early.
Ignition Interlock Hearing Help
If you have multiple express consent revocations during your life, the Colorado DMV will require you to have an ignition interlock device for two years. You may also be required to have an interlock on your vehicle for an extended period of time if you fail the device's tests. If you fail too many times, you will receive a notice from the DMV indicating that you need to appear for a hearing.
I am experienced at representing clients throughout the interlock hearing process. If you have failed the interlock test too many times, I will provide you with aggressive representation throughout your case.
